maarpol Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Hello Nick. Thank you for your help so far , this tug was a Harbour tug in Holland and that time not an Imo number. But fψrst a better picture of this tug in Holland. Dimensjons. Building yard: Scheepswerf R van den Belt in Holland. Buildings nummer 7 in 1958 Lenght 24,80 x 6,65x2,50 Meters Engines: 2 x 250Hp Bolnes diesels coupled on one propel axel. Total 500 Hp Sold to your country in 1984. With Greathings Martin
Nick the Greek Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Nothing like a good mystery, without an IMO number it is even more difficult. Here is a visual match, what do you think? Problem is i am unable to find the Greek name's details too. Her name is Ag Eleni, any ideas?
Nick the Greek Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Well, after some outside help and a more thorough look into my archive the solution is here. She is the TIGRIS and here is a photo of hers. Her Greek owners did not even bother painting new colours on her funnel. By the way, what does the V stand for, Vroom? Which of course leaved the Ag Eleni a mystery, seems to me they are sister ships though.

magwa Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I have seen some photos of FALCON laid-up at Salamina Island but don't seem to be able to find any information on her anywhere. Is she a local Piraeus excursion vessel over wintering? I can see there is a thread in the Greek forum mentioning her, but Google trans doesn't work too well on it . Can anyone help please? Also what is under the white tarpaulin there.. been in many photos photos over the months.. eg in http://www.shipfriends.gr/forum/photoplog/index.php?n=3809 TIA Pam
Nick the Greek Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 As far as i can remember, this Falcon appeared in Piraeus more than a year ago if not longer. She spent many-many months tied up in a repair berth and finally she re-emerged in a nearby shipyard. The fact that she is driven ashore now seems to suggest that work is being done on her, however the intention in terms of employment is unknown, ownership too. She would seem though to be a pretty good bet for use as a daytrip vessel, somewhere in the Greek islands.
magwa Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Many thanks for that info. She certainly looks a nice enough vessel, from the exterior anyway Will have to keep an eye out for what happens. Pam

Ikarus Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Hello, Is it possible that Minoan Lines offer a "new" line from Ancona to Corfu? Because i checked openseas.gr and found that for on 20/7/09 Olympia Palace will call at the port of Corfu and then she will go to Igoumenitsa and after that to Patras. This is also listed in Minoan Lines Booking Engine, but it is not possible to book. On 21/7/09 she will also call at Corfu at 01:00 and will then go to Ancona. Europa Palace will also call at the port of Corfu. So what could that mean? Best regards, Dominik
NHSOS XIOS Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Hello Ikarus, you are right about this mistake,i dont know why this happens. You have to wait(in case the routes appear in the online booking form of the site)or to contact by tel the company to inform you.
Ikarus Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Kali Spera, Thank you for the comment to my question. I am really suprised about this mistake of the booking system. I have another question: Today I checked the Endeavor Lines Website and I noticed that on the timetables the Erotokritos T. will arrive at the port of Igoumenista at 2:00 but the disembarkation is at 6:00. Does anybody know of what reason? Best wishes, Dominik
